S.C. Adoption Support Groups & Organizations
The support groups listed below are those that are known to SCALAA members and open to adoptive families regardless of their adopting agency. (Groups restricted to families that have used a particular agency are not included here.) Support groups may range from parent associations to professional education organizations.
ACES: Adoption Coalition for Education and Support
Adoption Coalition for Education and Support (ACES) is a
comprehensive adoptive family resource in South Carolina. They strive to build
strong adoptive families by collaborating with public, domestic and
international adoption-related organizations to promote community
awareness and provide families with training and support. ACES is the main organizer of South Caroilna's annual Adoption Awareness Expo.
BirthMom Buds
BirthMom Buds is an organization
and website that provides peer counseling, support, encouragement, and
friendship to pregnant women considering adoption as well as women who
have already placed children for adoption.
FAACES: Families Adopting Across Cultures: Education & Support
It is FAACES' mission to be a supportive and educational network that
will be attentive to our families' needs and allow its families and
participants to be actively involved in planning the group's activities.
FCC: Families with Children from China

FCC: Families with Children from China - Midlands SC
FCC is a nondenominational
organization of families who have adopted children from China. The
purpose of FCC is provide a network of support for families who've
adopted in China and to provide information to prospective parents.

FCV: Families with Children Adopted from Viet Nam
Families with Children from Vietnam (FCV) is
the national organization for adoption from Viet Nam. Its members provide
family to family support to families who have adopted or are adopting from
Vietnam. Check their website for information FCV's South Carolina chapter.
Greenville County Foster Parent Association
The mission of the Greenville County Foster Parents Association is to support
foster parents in achieving safety, permanence and well-being for the children
and youth in their care.
